An MR licence authorises you to drive medium rigid vehicles. You must have held a C class licence for at least 12 months to qualify for an MR licence. The main difference between an HR and MR licence is the type of vehicle covered under each licence class. HR vehicles are classified as having more than 2 axles and a total GVM over 9 tonnes, whereas MR vehicles are classified as having a maximum of 2 axles and a total GVM over 8 tonnes and any trailer being towed by an MR vehicle must not weigh over 9 tonnes.
To get your MR licence you must have held an open or provisional class C or LR licence continuously for 12 months. You must also pass a written heavy vehicle knowledge test at a Department of Transport and Main Roads service centre and a practical driving test.
Our training courses are delivered by a genuine, enthusiastic, and above all knowledgeable team in a well-maintained fleet of modern vehicles.
